| Founding Partner & President

Previously, as a consulting social scientist, I worked throughout the USA, Central America, the Caribbean, Western Europe, Canada, and the Middle East. My clients came from the manufacturing, R&D, retail, healthcare, University and government sectors. They included entities such as Baystate Health, British Petroleum, Canadian Broadcasting Corp., Coca-Cola, Delhaize, Elliot Health System, Exxon-Mobil, Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, GSK, LLBean, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, NYU Langone Medical Center, Shell Chemical, Tennessee Hospital Association, Tufts Medical Center, University of Maine System, the US Internal Revenue Service and the World Health Organization.

Using strength-based workplace innovation and design interventions, my work brought together the people within the organization to create higher levels of performance AND cultures of dignity, community and meaning. In parallel to the consulting work I served as Dean of Complex Systems Change at the Institute for Applied Behavioral Science, adjunct faculty in organizational design innovation at the University of Ottawa and Concordia University, and as guest lecturer at Cornell, KU Leuven etc.

My mistakes and insights have been shared at professional conferences around the world. My four decades in consulting gave me the experience upon which I drew to publish seven books and numerous articles dealing with workplace innovation and the collaborative co-creation of more humane and effective organizations.

I have had the privilege of being a co-developer of both the North American Socio-Technical Systems approach to organization design and the theory and practice of Appreciative Inquiry.
