Sal, founder of Totem Wealth Management, graduated from Winthrop University’s Financial Planning Program in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. Sal also attended Shattuck-St. Mary’ School of Excellence Boarding School in Faribault, MN, from 2012-2014 for soccer. Playing soccer his whole life Sal had a successful career both at the youth/collegiate level but also a short stint abroad. Sal received his Certified Financial Planner designation in 2021. Sal started his career at The Vanguard Group in their Retail Inheritance Services where he was entrusted with transferring assets to beneficiaries from deceased loved ones. After receiving his FINRA Series 7 and Series 63, Sal was also selected to proctor over fifty Vanguard crew to receive their Series 7 and 63, with a 94% pass-rate. After a short time in that role, Sal was promoted to Team Leader on the Brokerage Desk of the Investments Department where he oversaw a team to execute trades for valued clients. During his time at Vanguard Sal learned an appreciation for client relationships and the importance of trust as it pertains to your clients, which he continues to bring with him to this day.

After a successful career at Vanguard, Sal became a partner of a small-Registered Investment Advisory out of Indianapolis while expanding the business out in Charlotte, North Carolina where he currently resides. It was here Sal crafted his own views for what a successful RIA should be; at which point Totem Wealth Management was born.

Sal has extensive experience in both creating financial plans, creating achievable goals, and managing the investments within the accounts his clients entrusts him with. It is with his forward-looking approach he has been able to successfully manage the volatility of markets while serving his clients to his fullest ability.
