The Board Foundation is a Swiss-based non-profit organization committed to the pursuit of excellence in corporate governance. It aims to create value for individuals, organizations, and society by providing a global platform for development, networking, and innovation to board directors, governance professionals, and academics in the field of corporate governance.
The BF has three operating units: the Swiss Board School (SBS), the Swiss Institute of Directors (SIoD), and the International Center for Corporate Governance (ICCG).
Founded in 2013, the BF is committed to promoting good governance practices. It provides guidance on corporate governance principles, promotes transparency and accountability, and advocates for maintaining high standards of board professionalism. It firmly believes that combining practical and academic, national, and international, and legal and economic perspectives leads to the best governance solutions.
Purpose
Board Foundation's (BF) activities are guided by four core principles:
Independent: The BF strives to be independent of any particularistic or commercial interests in order to provide an impartial and unbiased perspective on corporate governance.
Integrated: The BF strives to combine theory and practice, organizational and legal considerations, as well as Swiss and international perspectives on corporate governance.
Innovative: The BF strives to be at the forefront of new trends in corporate governance and to help practitioners and academics put them into perspective.
Impactful: The BF strives to make a positive impact on an individual, organizational, and societal level in all activities in which it is involved.
