Sota is the CEO of SmartRyde, the leading pre-booked airport transfer platform in Asia.
SmartRyde was founded in March 2017 by Sota, a student at Ritsumeikan University, after he was ripped off by a taxi driver on his way from the airport to the city in Thailand. He questioned “Why couldn’t there be a solution for tourists to travel safely from the airport in the same manner in Asia?” After over 6 years, he is running SmartRyde, which is headquartered in Tokyo and has two subsidiary locations in Thailand and Cambodia. He was selected to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list – Class of 2023 as a part of Consumer Technology.
