Peter Fusaro has been a thought leader and activist in working on environmental issues with the world’s dirtiest industry, energy. He has worked as a policy maker at the US Department of Energy where he helped take the lead out of gasoline working with both US EPA and the oil industry in the 1970s. He worked in the NYC Energy Office to create some of the first energy efficiency programs with the New York City utilities in the 1980s.During the 1990s he worked with the Toyota Prius development team as an advisor. For the past 25 years, he has focused on the capital markets and created terms such as Green Trading, Green Finance and Green Hedge Funds. He is the author of 17 books on energy and the environment, has lectured on 4 continents and 50 countries on sustainability, and continues to mention young professionals from his alma maters i.e. Carnegie-Mellon University and Tufts University. He as the advisory boards of the University of Michigan’s Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise for 8 Years, and Bard College’s MBA in Sustainability. He was an adjunct professor at Columbia University where he taught a popular course on renewable energy project finance. In summation, since Earth Day 1970, Peter has been dedicated to fostering a cleaner energy future for the world and has been successful at it.
