Michael Schwartz is Chairman, CEO and Founder of Grai Matter. Mike is a 30 year veteran in healthcare and life sciences, having held a variety of positions as strategist, entrepreneur and operating executive. Previously he was Specialist Executive at Monitor Deloitte, where he led disruption defense strategy in healthcare and life sciences, creation of the Human Phenome Ecosystem, and applications of complex systems science to strategy, including the Future of Health Simulation and Deloitte’s involvement in the Santa Fe Institute. His consulting career included positions at Bain & Company, APM/CSC Healthcare, and BDC Advisors. He co-founded four companies in healthcare analytics, specialty pharma and biopharmaceuticals. He was also SVP Strategy and New Products at Pharsight, a pharmaceutical modeling and simulation company. Mike began his career in science and technology policy at the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) in Washington DC and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, France. Mike holds an AB magna cum laude in Science, Technology and Society from Cornell University, an MS in Biochemistry from UCLA, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and an MS in Complex Systems Science from Arizona State University (in process).
