ABOUT KHALIL OSIRIS
Khalil Osiris is a pioneer and thought-leader in the fields of education, restorative justice, and social impact. He is the founder of Truth & Reconciliation Conversations (TRC), an organization
committed to advancing racial reconciliation and the rights of women and girls through meaningful dialogue and action. By fostering inclusivity, TRC aims to bridge divides, heal historical wounds, and build a global community that values every voice.

As someone who experienced incarceration, Khalil brings a unique perspective on criminal justice and personal accountability. His book “Psychology of Incarceration” has been widely taught in prisons and universities across America, with a powerful message that “prison is a metaphor for self-imposed limitations and freedom is a choice”.

In 2011 Khalil moved to South Africa in order to work as a consultant with schools, community-based organizations, and companies who hire citizens transitioning back into society. He also hosted the award-winning television show “Each One Teach One” which won Best Factual Educational Program from the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA).

As founder of TRC, Khalil created an inspiring documentary series about courageous individuals who are working to create positive change in their communities through honest conversations. The first documentary was released following the murder of George Floyd in 2020 while the second was released on the one year anniversary of his death. The series finale premiered at the 2021 TRC Global Summit held virtually on July 18th – 19th in honor of Nelson Mandela International Day.

Building off this success, Khalil launched a global civic education and engagement campaign that gives students access to academic credit by learning how to prevent violence against women and girls where they live.

Khalil regularly gives talks on topics such as Psychology of Incarceration, Hiring Returning Citizens, Men Stopping Violence, and A Freedom That Comes From Within. To gain further insight into his ideas and life’s work you can read his blog at khalilosiris.com.
