Purpose
Renewable energy plants are – by virtue of their size and their specialised nature – too large to be held by private investors in their entirety, such that their ownership remains in the remit of large energy companies and institutional investors. Over and above this, the requirement for countries worldwide to become net-zero by 2050 at the latest means that the amount of renewable energy generated must double by 2030 and maintain this breathtaking expansion speed up to 2050.
WATTIFY – by liquifying renewable energy assets (that is to say making fractional ownership possible) – allows the everyday general public to access and own renewable energy assets from as little as an initial USD 1 investment, enabling them to identify, promote and enjoy an important contribution to reducing CO2 in the environment. Furthermore, the fact that the asset and yield tokens are often backed by guaranteed energy prices as well as being proffered by top tier energy companies means that the everyday consumer can be ensured that his investment is in safe hands with reliable yield and resale values (OTC trading).
