Summary

For example, earlier this year we announced a partnership with charity:water to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in vulnerable communities through the deployment of hand-washing stations, hygiene and sanitation training and community health messaging.

DuPont will work to accelerate diversity, equity and inclusion with the goal of becoming one of the world's most inclusive companies by 2030, including investing $10 million in the next 10 years and targeting gender parity in senior leadership.

Objectives

From senior executives to early career employees, we’re working to improve diversity, equity and inclusion across all levels of our organization and career stages. Our three areas of focus for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are: Representation - Regularly assess and share DEI progress versus benchmarks across all levels of the organization. Data is shared within the business, with our ERGs (employee resource groups), and with external benchmarking organizations (including the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, Catalyst, McKinsey/LeanIn.org). Understanding - Shape our DEI agenda in direct response to the needs of different people in our environment, including launching the Racism and Equity Response Framework to meaningfully address racism and equity for our U.S. Black/African American community. Support Systems - Examine policies and practices to ensure support and equity for the diverse needs of people in our environment (e.g., flexible working arrangements, unconscious bias training, employee resource groups, enhanced EAP offering, etc.).  Cultivate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) through Employee Resource Group activities and initiatives.

Become one of the world’s most inclusive companies, with diversity well ahead of industry benchmarks by 2030. To advance our diversity, equity and inclusion goal we’ve taken the following actions: Committed $10 million over the next 10 years towards DEI investments focused on the Black/African American community. Signatory to the Gender and Diversity KPI Alliance launched in September 2020 to support the adoption and use of a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure gender and diversity in their companies and organizations.  Signed on to the Catalyst CEO Champions for Change in 2019, pledging to advance more women, particularly women of color, into senior leadership positions and onto our board. Our target is to achieve gender parity in senior leadership by 2030. Signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge, which commits our leaders to take measurable action in advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

At DuPont, we re-commit ourselves to our core value of health and safety every single day. This commitment is embodied in our company culture and core values, our stakeholder engagement, and in the innovations we produce for the world. Our commitment is exemplified by our performance in 2019 when 73% of DuPont sites achieved zero injuries and/or illnesses.
