TAO develops forward thinking and cutting-edge cross-sectoral strategies for the diverse Oceans Community (Maritime Industry, Technology, Investment, Insurance, Foundations, Government Agencies, National Defense, Academic/Research Institutions, NGOs, & Trade Associations) to transform and accelerate the sector. TAO works tirelessly to create and promote Public Private Partnerships (P3's) and Blended Finance vehicles for critically necessary Maritime and Coastal Ecosystem development.   In May 2018, TAO's founder and CEO testified before the U.S. Congressional Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure for The Save Our Seas Act of 2018, which former President Trump signed into law. He advises several Blue Economy/Tech innovation accelerator programs in the U.S., Canada and Europe including StartBlue, MassChallenge/401 Tech Bridge, Cape Fear Ocean Labs, Blue Institute Labs, Seaworthy Collective & Ocean Exchange. He is a U.S. Delegate to the United Nation’s Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and a member of the UNDOS Artic Circle Planning Group. He is a highly sought-after speaker on the Blue Economy, Blue Technology, Ocean Data/Analytics and has presented at AlgaEurope 2021, the Consortium for Ocean Leadership, The Maritime Alliance, IOSTIA, the World Ocean Council and G-STIC’S (Global Scientific, Technology Innovation Conference). 

Purpose

TAO's purpose is bring experts, technology and investment into the Maritime Industry to transform and modernize the sector; to create and promote Public Private Partnerships and Blended Finance Vehicles for critically necessary Ocean and Environmental Initiatives; to evangelize the significance of Oceans to mitigating Climate Change, Global Security (National, Coastal, Energy and Food), Economic Prosperity, Workforce Development and STEM Opportunities (diversity, equity and inclusion); and to use innovative storytelling through AR/VR technology, gamification and social media to excite and inform the planet on the wonderment of our oceans and the discoveries (animal and plant life, biological/chemical) that are yet to be made.

Summary

TAO will promote the significance of World Oceans through 3 programs (BETR Launch, Blue Initiative, Deep Blue) to improve economic prosperity, workforce development and STEM Opportunities for underrepresented ethnic groups by 10% by 2030.

Activities & Initiatives

TAO will create and share knowledge about the significance of our Oceans to mitigating Climate Change and the value of the Blue Economy through Blue Technology to the world by encouraging governments, policy makers, universities, research institutions, maritime companies, investors, insurance firms, Foundations, NGO's, Global Organizations and Trade Associations to implement process and procedures and investment strategies that promote sustainability and extend economic opportunities and benefits for all. All initiatives will focus on fulfillment of UN SDG Goals. Together we will explore and understand lived experiences of those in our commitments to: address calls for societal change tied to global issues and concerns; provide professional development and networking opportunities for secondary education, community colleges, under grad, grad and professional students; create a convening center for interdisciplinary research, communication, coordination and collaboration; promote innovation and entrepreneurship pipeline, mentorship, coaching and advising; and catalyze a better and more inclusive world.
