Reduce carbon emissions from Scope 1 & 2 emission sources to zero by 2030, in alignment with the Science-Based Targets Initiative.
Reduce carbon emissions from Scope 3 emission sources 35% by 2030 (specifically, purchased goods and services, and upstream and downstream transportation and distribution), in alignment with the Science-Based Targets Initiative.

SBD will address unmet societal needs by delivering products that are innovative and purposeful to improve the lives of 500 million people by 2030. We calculate our progress every year and report out externally.
By 2030, 100% of all SBD Manufacturing and Distribution sites will not send any waste to landfill.
SBD will identify water risks and set context-based targets that address site-specific concerns in each water stressed river basin where it has operations by 2030.
Working with WWF on flagship project that will improve the biodiversity of river basin wetlands which in turn has the benefit of improved water quality, availability, and reducing the potential for future flood risk.
SBD will re-train and re-skill 10 million makers (employees and those in society) to improve their foundational and long-term skills and thrive in a changing world by 2030 through: STEAM education, vocational and trade skills, makerspace training and employee career mobility. 60,000 of those makers will be SBD employees that will have transitioned to new or enhanced roles or have the potential to transition based on upskilling provided by SBD.
SBD will have 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging by 2025.
By 2025, two-thirds of our supply chain by spend will develop science-based Scope 1 and Scope 2 targets. By 2030, we’ve committed to reducing our absolute Scope 3 emissions by 35% compared to a 2017 baseline. This means all new growth from 2017 on will need to be emissions free in addition to reducing the emissions associated with our 2017 sales volume by 35%.
Donated $1M in 2020 and at least $10.5M by 2025 to strategically aligned racial equity related organizations.
SBD has committed to achieving 50-50 gender parity in leadership by 2030.
