Rights CoLab
Rights CoLab incubates innovative approaches to human rights. Founded in 2018, we are an experimental platform for expert-level collaboration across civil society, business, and finance. Our purpose is to enable new approaches that will make the human rights field more resilient and ready to take on the urgent challenges of our time. We work with a broad coalition of allies to better integrate human rights into the corporate disclosure standards on which investors and regulators rely. Since 2019, we have partnered with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB)—now part of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)—to advance evidence-based, financially material human capital disclosure standards, including for Labor Conditions in Supply Chains and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Rights CoLab is also developing an initiative to empower “citizen shareholders” to make strategic demands on corporate behavior to advance human rights.

Purpose

The purpose of Rights CoLab’s Business and Finance program is to leverage financial markets and improve corporate governance to promote corporate respect for human rights.
