We are a not-for-profit organisation with a purpose to encourage and empower working people to make responsible decisions based on their company’s Values and Code of Ethics.

We are a group of individuals who believe that businesses, and particularly those that work within them, need to accept they have responsibilities towards people, society and the environment as well as making an ethical profit.

The Responsible Business Project 2030 is not anti-profit.

We recognise that the UK (and other western democracies) depends on businesses making a good profit, paying their taxes to fund such vital services such as the NHS, our schools, police and other services.

However, we do not believe that it is right to push for profit at the expense of people or the planet. We are looking for businesses to become good corporate citizens: responsible businesses with a holistic strategy focused on people, planet and profit issues.

To us, it is self-evident that more working people making responsible decisions will make the world a better place to live and work.

Of course, we accept that many businesses already take this responsibility seriously but not enough. These businesses need to change their priorities and urgently. This is our focus – working with others to encourage them through persuasive argument to make this change with a view to make responsible business commonplace by 2030.
