By supporting the adoption of broad-based employee ownership plans across the country, Ownership Works is committed to 1) creating hundreds of thousands of new employee-owners and 2) generating at least $20 billion of wealth for workers by 2030.
Ownership Works (O.W.) is focused on expanding the adoption of shared ownership – or broad-based employee ownership - across corporate America. O.W. seeks to increase prosperity for workers and businesses by providing all employees with meaningful wealth building opportunities through shared ownership, with a focus on reaching low- and moderate-income workers and workers of color. O.W.'s approach focuses on (1) movement building to generate a groundswell of interest around shared ownership among world-class businesses and corporate leaders, (2) hands-on guidance to help investors and public and private companies through each step in the process of implementing a shared ownership program, and (3) data and research to support and inform the progress of our programs and initiatives. To date, we have generated 22 partnership with private equity and investment firms committed to implementing shared ownership plans in at least 3 portfolio companies within 2 years of launching their engagement with O.W. For a full list of our signed partners across foundations, corporations, labor advocates, investors, and pension fund leaders, please visit https://ownershipworks.org/partners/.
O.W. will measure our progress by tracking the amount of wealth shared with workers, the number of new shared ownership plans adopted by companies, and by documenting our programmatic reach among low- and-moderate-income workers and workers of color.
