Earth & Organics

What is global warming according to all of you? With increasing population, faster depletion of forest resources and farming land, the Earth is getting less green every day. On the other hand, where farming exists, excessive use of chemicals and pesticides is killing not only the food, but also the hazardous chemicals are seeping into the ground-water and poisoning it.

With organic farming, we are not only consuming healthy food, we are making our earth healthy, helping farmers who are combating the problem of global warming in some way. This is helping the consumers and also producers as they do not intake any of the toxic chemicals. We are being very casual and nonchalant about the devastating impact our lifestyle is having on bio-diversity, as we are not realizing how critical it is to our survival.

We are focused on addressing the issue of soil pollution. Several reports suggest that we have about 60 years of harvest from soil remaining if we do not reverse this change that could be catastrophic, irreversible and lesser food to provide for our population that is expected to grow to 10 billion by 2040!

Earth & Organics was started by Anjali in 2018 with the purpose to make sustainability an intricate part of everyone's lives.

Purpose

Promoting sustainability in our daily lives was the key reason for founding the company. Clean food grown using sustainable methods has been a major goal that we are addressing via our retail business. As we completed a year into the business, it did not take long to realize that there are other key sustainability related issues that need to be highlighted and emphasize why they are key to our survival.

This is what is required for Inclusive Capitalism. The stakeholders must also include the implicit actors which is our Planet and the Nature along with human actors and man created products and services. Mitigation to climate change requires an intense and profound change in human activities, mind-set and unity. The most recent IPCC report could not done a better job. It's a 'now or never situation'. There are many such organizations who are driving this change and accelerating this movement. The Council of Inclusive Capitalism has created a fantastic platform for engagement with the community, however we need a much more accelerated implementation of the commitments undertaken.

Incorporating sustainability at various levels requires a systemic change, community engagement and creative ways to address different issues that could elevate climate change. Going forward our focus would also be to address these issues to enable success of sustainability goals.

We believe it is vital to state clearly to the world the set of our beliefs about Inclusive Capitalism. As such, we start with our Statement of Guiding Principles for Inclusive Capitalism. Knowing that words alone are not enough, each of us is making a series of commitments about how we will operate our institutions so that they help achieve Inclusive Capitalism. These commitments are forward-looking statements based on current goals, expectations and assumptions, which are not guarantees of future performance.
