BECO’s commitment is to disrupt the food value chain by supporting small hold farmers to increase local production to create a sustainable food value chain with the reduction of; food waste, carbon through logistics and deforestation by 2024.
BECO will measure its success by;
- Working with regulating bodies and industry to measure the impact of produce displacement with the increase of local production through;
- Carbon logistics – Total carbon offset
- Food waste - % food wasted on retail shelves
- Tack the number of local famers including special working environments for employees with dissabilities/special needs
- Tack and champion urban farming bring added into early education curriculum (inspiring the next gen farmers and the importance of food/nutrition)
- Measure the % increase in food security and resilience
- Tack the increase in local GDP through the farming sector
- Tack the reduction of waste from industry collaboration (upcycling and circular economies)
