Summary

Ascent will promote diversity in the workplace by focusing at least two-thirds of our work in 2022 on supporting leaders and organizations to better identify, develop and retain diverse talent.

Activities & Initiatives

    • Ascent will focus at least two-thirds of our work on assessing and developing leaders’ capacity in ways that matter most. This includes: inclusive leadership (effective, impactful ways to engage, empower and develop employees); strategic thinking (planning for, navigating a changing world); listening and learning from those impacted by bias and inequity.
    • We will support organizations in developing structures, processes, systems and leaders to better identify, retain and develop diverse talent.
    • We commit to having our internal approaches match our external, client facing work. Engage in continual learning and improvement of how we work, aligning individual styles, needs and preferences to respect each individual, as well as for the good of the organization.
    1. To better enable leaders and organizations to identify and develop diverse talent, Ascent will support them in developing and implementing structures, processes and systems to engage and empower their people. These include:
    • unbiased, equitable methods for evaluating and developing an increasingly diverse workforce (including emerging leaders)
    • building capacity to navigate a changing world
    • listening and learning from those impacted by bias and inequity
    2. To enable our organization to remain nimble, creative and energized, we will dedicate time to grow individual skills, share ideas and learning. We will also take an equity lens to our own work, aligning individual needs and preferences to enable each of us to contribute fully and joyfully.

Measures & Targets

We will measure our success by tracking the percentage of our work that is dedicated to supporting organizations developing strategic, comprehensive approaches to an engaged, diverse workforce. Using weekly documentation and quarterly assessments, we will be able to refine our approach and build on lessons learned. In addition, we will continue to collect client feedback at the end of each project, and invite our clients to offer insights, or to share their progress in growing a strong, diverse workforce and leadership.
