ARED is an AI and solar-powered distributed cloud infrastructure as a service using edge as a way to bridge the digital divide that exists in developing countries. ARED spent 6 years on research and development to find the right technology to be implemented on the African continent. Our technology is currently being used in 6 countries (Rwanda, Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, and Ivory Coast). Today, most of the data centers and other telecom infrastructure still use diesel generators to power their infrastructure that is contributing the climate change issues. Our mission is to help connect the unconnected by building the largest solar-powered edge infrastructure in Africa. Purpose

We have over 4 billion people today globally that are unconnected and 800 million live in Africa. Without digital access for low-income people, they cannot participate in the digital revolution that is happening in fintech, healthtech, agritech and others. The main challenge is the lack of infrastructure that exists on the continent due to cost and low purchasing power from citizens to allow a quick return of investment.

Our mission is to build the largest edge infrastructure in low-income areas to finally bridge the digital gap in Africa and beyond.

ARED is committed to bridging the digital and energy gap that exist in Africa, our goal is to provide digital and energy access to over 10 million people. Will be able to indirectly create over 10000 micro-entrepreneurs in the next 5 years.

Activities & Initiatives

ARED's goal is to bridge the digital and energy goals that exist in developing countries especially in Africa, 800 million people today do not have any digital access to applications due to poor or/and expensive infrastructure. We develop a solar kiosk and edge technology that will be able to bring a distributed low-cost infrastructure solution in rural areas and beyond. Learn more here.

Measures & Targets

In the next 5 years ARED plan to serve around 10 million customers on its platform, we plan to be in 15 countries (our technology is currently being used in 6 countries today). We estimated we can indirectly create 10000 micro-entrepreneurs that will be operating from our kiosks, and implement around 100000 mini servers across the continent.
