Pitch the Moravian University to establish the 29Bison Institute to cultivate knowledge encouraging business practices and investment in ways that promote sustainability and extend economic opportunities and benefits by September 2021.
The Moravian University 29Bison Institute for Inclusive Capitalism will create and share knowledge encouraging business practices and investment in ways which promote sustainability and extend economic opportunities and benefits to all. Research, activities and curricula will focus on fulfillment of the UN SDG goals and the IIRC/Value Reporting Foundation 6 Capitals in private companies and the US middle market, aligned with the
Framework for Inclusive Capitalism. Together we will explore and understand the lived experiences of those in our communities to:
- Address calls for societal change tied to global issues and concerns (the US lags in these areas)
- Provide professional experiences for undergrad, grad and professional students
- Create a container for interdisciplinary study, research, and industry and civic collaboration
- Expand and offer real-world applications of liberal arts education
- Promote a talent pipeline, research and development collaborator for 29Bison and other collaborator/sponsor organizations
- Catalyze a better and more inclusive world
Specific targets are still in development with the University board of trustees. The Institute for Inclusive Capitalism as been approved as part of the Moravian University 2021-2026 Strategic Plan. The initial business plan will be presented to the board of trustees at their August 2021 meeting.
