WBCSD Meeting North America 2021 | Accelerating climate action for a just economic transition

Corporate climate action must align with the needs of workers and communities to achieve a just energy transition. On July 15, 2021, Council Founder Lynn Forester de Rothschild joined World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) President and CEO Peter Bakker for a discussion about the unique role businesses can play in addressing inequality as they decarbonize and reduce environmental impact.

Their discussion opened the first plenary session at WBCSD’s 2021 Meeting North America, which gave policy influencers, thought leaders, and leading businesses a forum to dive deeper into the connections between climate action, social justice, and economic transformation. All remarks at the 2021 meeting centered on the theme of building the future we need for 9 billion people to live well and within the boundaries of the planet by 2050.
