Robert W. van Zwieten

Robert W. van Zwieten, based in Manila, Philippines, has three decades of experience spanning both global finance and sustainable development. He founded and leads The Serendra Group LLC, a boutique emerging markets advisory firm specializing in innovative finance, sustainability, and strategy in Asia-Pacific. Prior to this, he served as the President and CEO of EMPEA, the global industry association for private capital in emerging markets. He was the Director of the Private Sector Capital Markets Division at Asian Development Bank, following a global career in senior leadership positions at ABN AMRO Bank, General Electric, Lehman Brothers, and Singapore Exchange. He also serves as a Member of the Advisory Group for Investments at UNOPS S3i and is a pro bono Ambassador for the World Benchmarking Alliance and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Philippines. He holds law degrees from Leiden University in the Netherlands, Columbia University School of Law in New York, and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
