Ramez Sousou is Founder and Co-Chair of TowerBrook Capital Partners, a purpose-driven investment firm headquartered in London and New York. TowerBrook invests in private equity and structured opportunities, with a value creation strategy that aims to transform the capabilities and prospects of its portfolio companies. TowerBrook is the first mainstream private equity firm in the world to attain B Corp Certification. B Corps are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social, environmental and governance performance.
Ramez was previously co-head of Soros Private Equity and a member of the Management Committee of Soros Fund Management. Prior to that, he was a senior member of the Principal Investments group of Goldman Sachs.
Ramez is a member of the board of the US/Middle East Project, the Global Advisory Council of Harvard University and the Steering Committee for the Council for Inclusive Capitalism. He is a former board member of the Private Equity SMI Task Force (PESMIT), Habitat for Humanity International, the Lambeth Trust, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), and Alpha International, and was the founding chairman of the Private Equity Foundation (now Impetus Trust).
He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
