Carmen Correa is the CEO of Pro Mujer.  Carmen joined Pro Mujer in 2017 as the Director of Alliances.  She has served in several different leadership roles, including becoming Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2021.

Prior to joining Pro Mujer, Carmen led efforts at the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) in Uruguay to develop a new instrument to finance a venture capital fund and business accelerator.  Carmen also served as Program Director at Fundación Avina Uruguay, leading the regional strategy for inclusive markets aimed at contributing concrete and relevant changes that lead to a more sustainable development in Latin America. Prior to Avina, Carmen led as Chief Operations Officer and later as Executive Director of Endeavor Uruguay, an international non-profit organization that supports high-impact entrepreneurs.  She also served as Administrative Manager at DeRemate.com an online auction site in Uruguay, and has occupied various positions at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington DC and at the Organization of the American States (OAS) in Uruguay.

Carmen is a member of the advisory board of Socialab Uruguay an organization that promotes the development of social entrepreneurs and she is board member of Sistema B Uruguay an organization that promotes and builds new economic models.  Carmen is a mentor of Endeavor Uruguay and she co-leads the Southern Cone Task Force of the Global Steering Group on Impact Investment.   Carmen also supports other local civil society organizations such as Educación Responsable.

Carmen holds a B.S. in Management from National- Louis University in McLean, VA, and has a Business Administration Certificate from Georgetown University, among other management development courses from John Hopkins University and USDA in Washington, DC, and ESADE/ORT in Uruguay.
