Liz Fanning, CorpsAfrica’s Founder and Executive Director, served as a Peace Corps Volunteer (Morocco 1993-95) and worked for a wide range of non-profit organizations, including the American Civil Liberties Union, Schoolhouse Supplies and the Near East Foundation. She also served on numerous Boards of Directors. Liz has a BA in Economics and History from Boston University and a Masters in Public Administration from NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. In 2019, she received the Sargent Shriver Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Service from the National Peace Corps Association, in 2021 she was an AARP Purpose Prize Fellow, and in 2022 she received the JFK Service Award from the Peace Corps.
