James Fierro is an international businessman and social entrepreneur. He is the Founder and CEO of ECO Capacity Exchange Ltd. This social enterprise has introduced a transformational digital economy innovation capable of improving economic and social conditional globally at scale. It includes an online marketplace, trading platform, and economic system to facilitate the trade of the world’s abundance of unused capacity to be more fully utilized to increase trade and promote social development that is more inclusive, equitable, and trustworthy.
Mr. Fierro founded HomeGrocer.com, one of the early internet unicorns and the first company in the world to provide fully integrated Internet grocery shopping, warehouse, and delivery services. HomeGrocer was sold after 3 years in a merger transaction for approximately $1.2 Billion.
He has over 30 years of experience as the Founder and CEO of a range of start-up ventures. He is the visionary behind industry innovators in RFID technology, Internet Commerce, Electronic Trading Systems, Online Travel, and Life Safety.
Mr. Fierro began his career as a planning and business strategist, consulting for leading companies in the packaged goods sector, including Kraft General Foods, H.J. Heinz, Nabisco, Nestle, and Campbell Soup. Mr. Fierro was a long-standing active member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (“YEO” now “EO”) and served as President of the Vancouver chapter.
