David Dwumah

| OurBanc Corporation

| Founder and CEO

David is the Founder and CEO of OurBanc; a FinTech committed to doing its part in dismantling the systematic barriers that exist within America’s financial system. OurBanc is channeling the transformative power of purpose, community, and innovative technology to provide historically disenfranchised people with more transparent, and equitable financial products and services. In this role, he is responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction, leading the capital raise, and recruiting the founding team. He brings 20 years of cross-functional and deep domain expertise from the highly regulated financial services industry.

David is a serial entrepreneur, risk management advocate, and a former public servant. He founded Blu North Group, a technology risk and cybersecurity consulting firm, in 2016. In 2010 David was recruited by Citizens Bank to help drive the accelerated maturity for key technology risk initiatives, which were instrumental in supporting the bank’s IPO. From 2005 to 2010, he led strategic audits and risk management programs for critical national financial services and payment infrastructure within the Federal Reserve System and on behalf of the U.S. Treasury that touches all our lives! David began his career in 2002 in public accounting with Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Practice in Boston.

David serves as the Treasurer and is a Board Member of ISSA New England. He is a member of the U.S. Faster Payments Council (FPC) and serves on the Financial Inclusion Workgroup.

David was born in Ghana, West Africa, and immigrated to the United States on New Year’s Day, 1996, to attend college on scholarship. Growing up in Ghana, David had always been intrigued by Susu, a non-formal community-based savings practice that enables family and friends with limited or no access to formal banking services to come together to borrow and lend money to each other. He has been an ardent observer of how the rise of cellphone-based Mobile Money in Ghana and beyond is radically transforming the lives of the “unbanked” and “underbanked” by exponentially meeting users with services where they are, their phones.

Founding OurBanc is a culmination of David’s personal and professional experiences, a lifelong observation and belief in the power of People helping People, and the use of appropriate technology to better the lives of others!

David has a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Baylor University. He earned his Bachelor’s from the University of North Florida, with the highest honors. David is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification. In his spare time, David can be found cooking and enjoying good Southern Barbeque.
