Dan is a Founding Partner of Irrational Capital, focusing on behavioral economic research and strategy development. Dan is a leading behavioral economist, author, entrepreneur, a James B. Duke Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics at Duke University and a founding member of the Center for Advanced Hindsight. His work on behavioral economics has led to the publication of several New York Times bestselling publications including, Irrationally Yours; Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces that Shape Our Decisions; The Upside of Irrationality: The Unexpected Benefits of Defying Logic; and The (Honest) Truth About Dishonesty.
Dan contributed to a weekly column in The Wall Street Journal, “Ask Ariely,” and has delivered several TED Talks that have been downloaded more than 10 million times. He is the co-creator of the film documentary, (Dis)Honestly: The Truth About Lies which reflects insights found in his bestselling book.
