Inclusive Capitalism Convening on Challenges and Solutions in Scaling Transition Finance

Co-hosted by Lynn Forester de Rothschild, Mark Carney, and Peter Orszag
Monday, 23 September, 10.30am–12pm ET

Facing broad concern that the 1.5˚C climate threshold is moving out of reach, the pressure to more urgently align with emissions reduction targets has risen.  In turn, so have demands on asset owners, managers, and companies to decarbonize their portfolios and operations at pace, as well as on policymakers and public financing institutions to create enabling conditions to unlock private capital and market-driven solutions.

This closed-door convening brought together leaders at the forefront of the challenge – leaders capable of tackling the energy transition finance question from all angles, including asset owners and managers, investors in public and private markets, providers of catalytic capital, companies and energy providers, and thought leaders from academia, policymaking, and civil society. Our candid conversation aims to establish a common understanding on the hurdles that leaders across sectors are facing by collectively identifying levers to unlock the scalable financing solutions required to transition the global energy system.
