Position Overview
The Council for Inclusive Capitalism seeks an experienced Sponsorship Manager to lead fundraising efforts for a high-profile conference planned for Fall 2026 in London. This strategic conference will convene senior stakeholders committed to advancing inclusive capitalism and sustainable business practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to secure funding from aligned organizations, foundations, and business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Sponsorship Strategy & Development
- Design and implement a comprehensive development and sponsorship strategy targeting companies aligned with inclusive capitalism principles.
- Create compelling sponsorship proposals and marketing materials that articulate the conference’s value proposition.
- Identify and research potential corporate sponsors across various industries and market segments.
- Identify and research potential philanthropic and other funders.
Relationship Management & Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate development teams, CSR leaders, C-suite executives, grant makers, and program officers at target organizations.
- Conduct outreach campaigns to present sponsorship opportunities through multiple channels including direct contact, networking opportunities, and strategic introductions.
Partnership Development
- Collaborate with partners to develop meaningful engagement opportunities beyond financial support.
- Coordinate with conference planning team to ensure sponsor benefits are integrated into event programming.
- Manage sponsor communications and ensure deliverables are met throughout the partnership lifecycle.
Strategic Planning & Reporting
- Work with the organization’s leadership team to ensure that fundraising targets are achievable and provide regular updates on sponsorship activities and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in corporate and/or philanthropic fundraising, sponsorship development, or business development.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully securing grants or sponsorships for large-scale conferences, events, or initiatives.
- Negotiation expertise with a track record of closing significant grants or sponsorship deals.
- Project management skills with ability to manage multiple prospects and timelines simultaneously.
- Interest in corporate social responsibility, ESG initiatives, and sustainable business practices.
- Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and experience working with mission-driven organizations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Preference for individuals with an existing network of contacts within Fortune 500 companies or major foundations.
Position Details
This is a part-time, contract position. Scheduling can remain flexible to accommodate the candidate’s commitments, with compensation based on retainer plus commission. The successful candidate will work closely with the Council’s leadership team and external partners to ensure the conference’s success.
The ideal start date is flexible based on candidate availability, with the contract running through completion of the late-2026 conference and post-event sponsor stewardship activities.
